Tutoring with Pauline Novak

Build your child's confidence, motivation, satisfaction, and joy as we work together one-on-one at my studio classroom, or at your house or child’s school.

In a simple, step-by-step process, your child will learn the patterns and the structure of the English language. To build your child’s long-term memory, we'll focus on repetition and language therapy techniques through creative and fun exercises.

Lessons will be presented in various styles using language therapy techniques, hands-on Montessori materials, and other creative materials that I have curated over my 30 years as a Montessori educator.

Based on continuous observations and evaluations, your child and I will move as fast as we can but as slow as we must to ensure student success, documented in a weekly written report.

PRICING

 

STUDIO SESSIONS: $75.00 for 45 minutes

STUDENT’S HOME OR SCHOOL SESSIONS: $110 for 45 minutes

An invoice will be emailed at the end of each session. Payment through Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal is preferred.

 
 

SCHEDULING

 

The ideal number of sessions per week can be determined based on your child’s’ needs and goals as well as your schedule and budget.

For those with a formal diagnosis of dyslexia, it is advised by the International Dyslexia Association, that the student attend a minimum of 2-3 sessions per week.

ASSESSMENTS

 

If you are seeking evaluations to better understand the specific needs of your child, or are concerned your child may have a learning disability and don’t know where to start, Pauline Novak is also experienced and qualified in administering a variety of nationally normed assessments.

  • Gray Oral Reading Test of reading comprehension and fluency (GORT)

  • Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP)

  • Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT)

Assessments are available at an additional cost.

 
 

WHY PAULINE NOVAK

 

This isn’t your typical tutoring session… Mrs. Novak has spent the past 30 years as a Montessori Teacher, and specializes in addressing the needs of students with learning differences. She has previously served as the Montessori Learning Specialist at the Montessori School of Northern Virginia and a board member of the American Montessori Society, among a laundry list of other degrees and certifications. Mrs. Novak can make even the most skittish children comfortable and there’s a chance you’ll think she has magic powers with the way she’s able to connect with and help your child progress, even if others were unable to previously.
